Statement on Annunciation Catholic School Shooting

The tragic shooting at Annunciation Catholic School in Minneapolis this morning has left us heartbroken and horrified. The very places we seek for safety, refuge, and fellowship – schools and churches – have once again become scenes of unimaginable violence.

At FCM, we are committed to moving beyond words and toward loving action. We stand in solidarity with the students, families, staff, and clergy of Annunciation Catholic School, and with the entire Minneapolis community, as they navigate this profound grief.

As we hold the victims and their loved ones in our hearts, we also commit ourselves to the work of building a more just and peaceful world, where all people can live free from the fear of gun violence. This is a moment for us to come together as a community, support one another, and work tirelessly toward a future where such tragedies are no longer a part of our story. May God have mercy on us.
